You see me in your darkness,
You miss me in your light.
Deep down you know you need me the most,
When you’re in a fight.
I turn your senses off for a while,
It helps me unleash my might.
I do all the dirty deeds you’re scared to,
While in the corner you hide.
You’re afraid of me whilst among people,
When I make a hideous thought slide.
You plant the roses in the morning,
The crowd’s claps make you swell with pride.
At night I emerge and rip them from their roots,
And leave them at your enemy’s bedside.
The sheep hurls curses at her, you act,
You only smile in front of me at that sight.
Then one day, when I kill your plants just for fun,
You try to bury me down in your mind.
But you know my wrath, I destroy more than one,
Its foolish to face my spite.
We coexist, you are me, just dream your worst nightmare,
Then step aside and watch me do what society may or may not deem right.
Just keep being Jekyll in the dawn,
While at dusk we’ll be Hyde.
